INS releases novel open-source PNT software

September 27, 2022

Last week we released the fruit of more than two years of intense discussions, development, programming, testing and debugging. Our open-source navigation software INSTINCT is now available for download on GitHub (link: https://github.com/UniStuttgart-INS/INSTINCT)

INSTINCT is positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) software which implements a manifold of PNT algorithms (e.g. multi-sensor data fusion, GNSS, IMUs, ...) while following the Flow-Based Programming paradigm. It can operate in real-time, interfacing to different sensors, or it can be used in post-processing mode for which data is read from files or generated from the software's own simulation tools. If you want to learn more about the motivation for INSTINCT and how it can be used for different applications, we refer to this paper (link https://github.com/UniStuttgart-INS/INSTINCT/blob/main/doc/literature/2022-09_Topp-Hobiger_Flow-Based-Programming_ION-GNSS%2B_PaperDraft.pdf) which was also presented last week at ION’s GNSS+ conference in Denver, Colorado.

Interested? Why not simply download INSTINCT, compile and build your own navigation solutions?
